Introducing Sous Slides

Jul 18, 20263 min readBy Alice Mintz, Sous

Today we're releasing Sous Slides. Finish a workbook in Sous, click the Slides tab, and the deck builds itself: Sous writes the story arc, designs and renders every slide in your brand look, and checks every number against your data before it appears. There is no prompt to write and no file to upload. The deck comes from the analysis you already built.

Sous Slides turns a finished workbook into a presentation deck: it writes the story arc, designs and renders every slide in your brand look (logo, colors, fonts, even the charts), and checks every number on every slide against the underlying data before it appears.

Watch it happen:

From finished workbook to finished deck in one click From finished workbook to finished deck Finished workbook one click on Slides Sous writes the story arc and designs every slide Checks every number against the actual data Your deck, in your brand look Don't like a slide? Tell it. Sous redoes just that slide, and the edit sticks.

What's new

The deck is one click from a finished workbook. The Slides tab lives on the workbook itself. Click it and Sous renders the whole deck in front of you, ready to present or export to PowerPoint.

Sous writes the story arc. It sequences your analysis into a narrative that builds a case for the buyer, with headlines and takeaways written for the room, rather than dumping charts onto slides in workbook order.

Every deck comes out in your brand look. Your logo, your exact colors, your fonts, and even the charts. Slides works with Brand Styles, the style guide behind every Sous export, so the deck matches everything else your team ships.

You edit by telling it. "Tighten that takeaway." "Make the callout blue." Sous redoes just that slide, leaves the rest of the deck alone, and the edit sticks.

Why this matters

Every analyst at a CPG brand knows the work isn't over when the analysis is. The story is there and the numbers are solid, and someone still spends the evening pasting charts into PowerPoint, rewriting headlines, and adding takeaways in the right template. Brands we talk to love digging into their sales data; nobody loves rebuilding the deck that carries it, in the right style, every single period. Sous Slides removes that second job.

Every number on every slide, checked

Plenty of tools can generate a deck. The question is what stands behind the figures on it, because a polished deck with one wrong number in front of a buyer costs more than the deck saved. Sous Slides checks every number on every slide against the underlying data before it appears. The same per-provider rulebooks that keep every Sous query honest for SPINS, Circana, and Nielsen stand behind every figure that reaches a slide, and each number stays traceable to the query in the workbook that produced it. A slide cannot show a number your verified analysis did not produce. Our trust and accuracy chapter explains why we hold that line everywhere.

In practice

A rep covers Safeway, and the category review is due Friday. The workbook is done, and the story she wants to tell the buyer is in it. She clicks Slides, and Sous writes the arc, designs every slide, and renders the deck in her brand's look. One takeaway reads loose, so she tells Sous to tighten it; a callout should be blue, so she says so. Those two slides redo, the rest of the deck never moves, and both edits hold. The review is ready days before the meeting instead of the morning of. It is the same workflow Fishwife's sales team runs for its category reviews.

When the next period of data lands, the deck can rebuild along with every report sitting on that data. The analysis is the work; the deck is a click.
